The Andean Astronomical Observatory (OAA in Spanish) is a private organization with a simple mission, to bring the wonders of the universe to the tourists, using cutting-edge technology in a place where the architecture is in relationship with the natural environment. Hundreds of star shining in the night sky, clusters, nebulas and even galaxies are visible with the naked eye.
The Observatory has prepared everything so your visit is a completely unique experience, that is why the tour is part of an idea, developed in a multimedia presentation followed by the observation of different objects trough naked eyes, prismatic lenses and various telescopes.
The main idea is that you get to “feel” the distances in the universe and our place as human beings. We travel from our Earth to the distant clusters of galaxies and we observe nebulas, star cluster and solar system objects with different magnification and instruments so you can acknowledge what you are looking at and how far away those objects are. At the end of the tour you can participate of an astrophotography session to discover colors in the deep sky objects.
This tour is available on Fridays and Saturdays (subject to weather conditions) at 20:00 hs. (hotel pick-up time)
